WHISPERS - NEVER AGAIN

The singing Los Angeles twins Walter and Wallace Scott, with their vocal group the Whispers, released their first single in 1964 ("It Only Hurts for a Little While").  Five years later they had their first national soul hit with "The Time Will Come."  (The previous record, "Great Day," also from 1969, was an East Coast hit.)  Still performing today, the Whispers are one of the longest-running and successful soul vocal groups of all time.  This selection goes back to 1964.  It's their second single release, co-written by Ed Townsend (who, among countless other credits, collaborated with Marvin Gaye on Let's Get It On).       Real Player required.  Download Real Player here.
