LOVELITES - MY CONSCIENCE

Patti Hamilton is one of the great undiscovered soul voices.  During her brief career as the lead singer of Chicago's Lovelites, Patti recorded about an album's-worth of  songs, many of which she wrote.  The Lovelites' biggest hit was the 1969 song "How Can I Tell My Mom and Dad," which was banned by some radio stations because of its subject matter, a teenage pregnancy.  (It's interesting to note that the artists' pictures are on the label, a highly unusual practice for the time.)
